Could somebody please let me know how many KM there are between Hot Bay and Fish Hoek in Cape Town.
How long will it take by car?
The two are about 20 to 25 Km apart but the road winds between the mountain and the sea and is narrow and often congested. What should be a quick drive may take up to 35 or 49 minutes.

Two years ago I went and paid about $35 to fish off a converted ferry boat. I think it sailed out of either Fisherman’s Wharf or Deep Sea Headquarters but now I can’t find any information about it online. Doe anyone know if it is still in operation and where I can find it?

It depends on what your Budget is….or if you even have one.
If all you want is something to tell you depth and water temperature that something like a Hummingbird PiranhaMAX 210 would be fine. MSRP is in the 80.00 range. Anything from Hummingbird is decent. They have reasonable prices.
Personally I have the Lowrance X515C DF Sonar Fishfinder. It does the trick. Not too expensive. It has a max Sonar Depth of 2500 ft.
If you want the Creme de la Creme of fish finders IMO I would go with Raymarine C80 Chartplotter, Fishfinder, and Radar. It will give you a clear picture of the bottom at speeds of up to 40 mph. And has a mx depth range of 5000 ft.
