Need help fishing in Lake Ontario Around Hamilton?
i dont plan on eatin the fish cause its lake ontario. I go to 50 Point Marina and fish off of the rock bariers that go out a bit into the water. i also fish off of the rocks on either side of the man made river that goes from the marina to the lake so its pretty deep.
i want to be able to actually catch some fish there in the summer. Inside the marina where i cant fish, there are always lazy carp and salmon swimming slowly along the shore, however no matter what i cast in, they just go around it when they finnaly find it.
what should i be using? and when should i be going.
is there a time when the fish in lake ontario will swim close to the shore for feeding? possible the weedline, or maybe swim into the marina?
i need a lotta help cause i have tryed a lot of lures, and for every kind of fish.
i tried carp bait, iv tried salmon lures, topwater bass lures, and lots of others.
thanks in advance
oh, i forgot i dont have a boat
for the carp use pillsbury dough (plain old biscuit dough) but, you need to read a few books about the fish you want to target: bass, trout, salmon whatever. You could be reeling in the bait the wrong direction or the wrong speed even the wrong depth. They all take different baits (some will overlap) presented in different ways and this knowledge comes from others who knew they knew enough to put it into a book so we could all learn from their experience(s) on the water. Keep a diary and never let your shadow get on the water. You could be spooking them. Try fishing before dawn into the morning or at dusk into the evening. (fish are either hungriest in the morning having not fed all night or at night knowing they won't eat much at night.
