Ice fishing questions?

I was wondering how to catch lake trout, pike, walleye and whitefish ice fishing.What are your favourite tricks for each species?I will be fishing lake simcoe, ontario and was wondering some good spots for them.What is your favourite artificial or live bait, rod, reel, line and any other things for each?What other species can be caught and how can i catch them on lake simcoe?Also I was wondering what are the daily keep limits for each species?Thank you.

I catch walleye in northern minnesota with a gold or orange jig with a shiner minnow. About 6 inches off the bottom. For Northern pike I use the same set up. Or with tip ups in about 10 feet of water or off of points.

I need to know becuase i need a fly rod….for trout fishing in the streams…please help….

Don’t know what part of Lake Ontario those “experts” are fishing (if at all), but the salmon runs will be just about over by late October. Runs start in mid-August in the eastern tributaries and peak about mid-September.

temperature and speed transmitters for downrigger fishing/ good or not??

Had a pretty successfull fishing season on Lake Ontario this year but have read a lot of advertising of temp. and speed electronics that run off your downrigger by the cannonball.
I would like to hear from someone who has actually tried the deep water temp. and speed electronics and know if they really help or not.
Depth raider or whatever.

I like to do fly fishing and have more fish at that and its fun too?

How is the water from the lake safe to drink?

I have this question in my homework that i don’t get. need your help

People can safely drink water which is pumped from lake ontario to their homes. yet we are advised to not eat large fish caught in the same lake. why can we safely drink the water but not eat the fish?
Thanks =)

It’s called biocaccumulation. All the toxins accumulate in the fat of the fish.
