The river I fish on flooded to over 23ft. above flood stage yesterday and I would like to know how and for how long the fishing will be bad, if at all.
It won't be good until the water level subsides and the currents come back down to normal I would say 2 weeks to a month and it will probabally return to good fishing.
Any sugestions, baits, lures, softbaits, anything. Im going to be down there fo a week and im staying a block from the bay so i would like to go fishing any chance i get.
The fishing's been good, the keepers have been few… but they are around. I understand anglers using the Gulp Shrimp from Berkley are doing well on flounder. Swimming spoons & jigs have counted for some bluefish. There are some nice sharks out there swimming around. I caught and released a nice 5-foot sand tiger yesterday. They are an awesome fight on light tackle. The fish hit a jig while flounder fishing. If you want more tips, check out the free special report at : www.flounderbytes.com and tight lines. A week of fishing, sure you don't have room for one more???
Going up for a short weekend get away and I want to do some fishing. I have tried searching on yahoo Blaine fishing or birch bay and nothing came up. I have found washingtonlakes.com website but I can not figure out which locations are the close to Blaine washington where we will be. Any help would be greately appreciated.
Thanks,
In that area be careful of the seasons. They have closed Rockfishing and bottom fishing some what. There are many kelp beds in the area and I would go to one and fish the edges with a 3/4 ounce jig and large twistertail rubber worm. I have never had a kelp bed let me down yet. Also write the WDFW and they have been very good at getting back to me with specific questions. I was wanting to know about flounder and squid fishing and they gave me very good info. Usualy withing a couple days they would email me back. Hope this helps. Good luck.
